I attended the Yellow Conference in August of last year and during one of the sessions they had us write a letter to ourselves that they would mail us in 6 months. Mine came recently and struck a chord in my soul so I thought I would share it with all of you.
Dear Natalie, August 29, 2014
I don't know if everything has changed...a door has opened that has helped you walk into the life you've always meant to live or you're in love or something hard and raw is plaguing you. Or if everything feels eerily the same and that is what aches. Wherever you are, I am so proud of you for your bravery, your vulnerability, your willingness to enter into this beautiful life with openess and hope.
Keep going, Beautiful One, keep pushing on. Remeber that it's not about the big platforms and titles and audiences. It's about little things -a day at a time- loving people with everything you have, taking risks for the people you love, being willing to put yourself on the line. Give everything for the one in need, the one in front of you.
~~Look up, my dear, look up at the stars, at the faces around you, at that beautiful God who chose you, at the people who love you, at all that is in your hand, and just be overwhelmed in the rejoicing of it all right now--overwhelmed with the joy and beauty of this short, wild life.
